CommCop App — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how CommCop Technologies (a unit of M/S. Haztech) ("CommCop", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the CommCop mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
This policy is published in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the rules made thereunder, including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

2. The information we collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Account & profile details — name, mobile number, email address, password, and any profile information you add.
- Reports and submissions — incident reports, emergency requests, tips, complaints, polls, and any text, photos, video, or audio you upload.
- Communications — messages, feedback, and support requests you send to us or through the App.
- Verification details — any identity or address information required to verify your account [describe if applicable].
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & technical data — device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, and network information.
- Usage data — features used, pages viewed, and interactions within the App.
- Log data — IP address, access times, and diagnostic/crash information.
2.3 Location information
With your permission, the App collects precise (GPS) and/or approximate location to attach a location to emergency requests and incident reports, to show nearby alerts and services, and to help responders locate you. You can control location access through your device settings, but some safety features may not work without it.
2.4 Sensitive personal data
Depending on how you use the App, we may process sensitive information such as precise location, emergency details, and images. We process such data only to provide the safety and community-policing services you request.

4. Legal basis and consent
Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data based on the consent you give when you use the App, and for legitimate uses permitted by law, including responding to medical emergencies, public-safety threats, and legal compliance. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may limit your ability to use certain features.
5. How we share and disclose information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described below:
- Public-safety and law-enforcement authorities — when you submit an emergency request, report, or tip, the relevant information may be shared with the appropriate police, emergency, or governmental authorities so they can respond.
- Service providers — vendors who host, maintain, or support the App (e.g., cloud hosting, SMS/notification, analytics), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. [List key processors]

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a personal-data breach, we will follow applicable notification requirements.

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
